What’s New This Week

ST. JAMES READS THE BIBLE - This month we will turn to the book and story of the Exodus. We will read about how Moses was chosen by God to lead God’s people out of Egypt and to the promised land and about Pharoah’s resistance. This story and its focus on liberation is the one retold at Passover every year as the very center of Jewish faith and it is also often referred to by Christians as parallel to the ways that Jesus liberates us from sin. We will read it in two parts:

November 8 – Exodus The call of Moses and the plagues

November 15 – Exodus Deliverance and the giving of the law

BIBLE STUDY - Wednesdays at Noon - If you are interested in the Sunday morning discussions as we work our way though the book of Genesis, you can join us on Wednesdays at noon to go a little deeper. We start with a chance to catch up with each other’s lives and then move on to ask more questions about how we find the text meaningful for our lives. EUCHRE NIGHT - Please join us on Saturday, November 7, 2026, for a Euchre Night at 6:00 pm. Light refreshments and appetizers will be provided (if you prefer adult beverages, you can bring at your option). Entry will be donations of various cleaning or paper items that Lighthouse of Pontiac can give out (i.e. paper towels, toilet paper, household cleaning items or Kleenex boxes). All are welcome so bring a friend.
